The Maui Office of Mental Health America of Hawaii (MHAH) would like to give a warm mahalo to all who attended our Suicide Prevention Luncheon on November 7, 2019. A special thank you to our Maui Mental Health Champions Kukui sponsor Sutter Health/Kahi Mohala, ʻOlena sponsor, Kamehameha Schools and Kamani sponsors Na Hoaloha ʻEkolu Community Fund and Maui Health Systems for making our Maui Suicide Prevention Awareness Luncheon a great success. We could not have done it without you.

Maui Community Coordinator, Danielle Bergan, opened up the event while our joyful Master of Ceremonies, John Hauoli Tomoso, kept us moving and entertained. Trisha Kajimura, Executive Director, outlined MHAH’s high points for the year. Our featured speaker, Dr. Adam Coles, spoke of hope emphasized that we need to provide consistent help, even if it was the umpteenth time doing, because it can lead to meaningful change.

Let us remember the lessons from this year’s luncheon by continuing to talk about suicide prevention to break the stigma and spread the message that asking for help is a sign of strength not weakness.
