Join us in welcoming Bryan Talisayan

The Mental Health America of Hawai‘i family is thrilled to welcome our new executive director, Bryan L. Talisayan. With over 20 years of experience in non-profit work and deep ties to the community, Bryan is committed to digging in and working for the mission and vision of MHAH. Bryan’s career to this point has been spent improving access to healthcare in Hawai‘i through leadership in Oahu’s health centers, including Ko‘olauloa Health Center and Waikiki Health, where he was Chief Operations Officer and prioritized behavioral health services. Born and raised in Waianae, Bryan has a keen awareness of the impact of limited access and poverty on health as well as the strong potential for successful grassroots initiatives in communities. He has an eye to the future in partnering to fill gaps in the mental health service arena and enhancing MHAH’s role in advocacy. Bryan’s incoming message is clear, “I want people to know we are here and we aren’t going anywhere. Mental health is important for everyone’s overall well-being, which is why I see mental health services as primary care.” MHAH has been a part of Hawai‘i’s non-profit and mental health fabric for 78 years and in Bryan we have found a leader that will honor our history and envision a future that we can all work towards.

Trisha will be here working with Bryan on their transition through the first week of March. After completing four years at the helm of MHAH, she will join the leadership team of Sutter Health Kahi Mohala as their new Director of Business Development and Public Relations, a position that includes government relations and advocacy. Trisha remains passionate about eliminating stigma and improving access to mental health care.
