Registration Opens for Mental Health First Aid-Adult Version Training on June 24th, 2019

We are pleased to announce our newest offered training, Mental Health First Aid-Adult version (MHFA-A). Participants who complete MHFA-A will be certified in Mental Health First Aid and able to immediately use these skills for those in need.

The MHFA-A training:

  • Is an 8-hour course that gives people the skills to help someone who may be developing a mental health problem or is experiencing a mental health crisis
  • Is an evidence-based program that helps participants grow their knowledge of signs, symptoms and risk factors of mental illnesses and addictions
  • Produces greater confidence in providing help to others, greater likelihood of advising people to seek professional help, improved concordance with health professionals about treatments, and decreased stigmatizing attitudes
  • Randomized studies show that people who go through this program have increased mental wellness themselves.

Details for the first MHFA-A training being offered are as follows:

When: June 24th, 8:30am-5:00pm
Where:  Kahala Learning Space
Who can attend: The training is open to 30 participants and is encouraged for those who work with or frequently interact with the community.
