Mental Health America of Hawai`i (MHAH) is pleased to announce that we will begin offering “Training-for-Trainers” (T4T) Workshops for our Youth Suicide and Bullying Prevention (YSBP) project. Our YSBP Project is funded through program grants from the Clarence T.C. Ching Foundation and Kaiser Foundation Health Plan. The YSBP training was created by MHAH to combat the high levels of bullying and suicidality among Hawaii’s youth and aims to teach youth how to recognize and intervene in bullying and use suicide prevention tools. Participants who complete a T4T Workshop will be certified YSBP Trainers who are qualified to deliver trainings to youth in their communities.

The YSBP training:

  • Is based on local and national stats, and experiences of local youth
  • Increases knowledge and understanding of bullying and suicide
  • Identifies risk factors and warning signs
  • Provides skills and resources to help prevent or intervene
