Executive Director Job Announcement<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Mental Health America of Hawaii, the state\u2019s leading mental health advocacy and education organization is seeking an Executive Director responsible for successful implementation of the plans and policies set by the Board of Directors. The Executive Director sets annual organizational goals and objectives to meet clearly communicated and documented Board expectations, leading the Board in raising the necessary funds to carry out those plans, providing fiscal accountability and providing program, staff, and administrative management of the nonprofit. The Executive Director must demonstrate entrepreneurial skills and provide leadership and overall management for the organization to:<\/p>\n

1. Secure funding to ensure revenues are equal to approved annual budget needs;<\/li>\n
2. Ensure full compliance to all grant contracts;<\/li>\n
3. Ensure that programs are provided with appropriate support systems in the areas of staffing, planning, budgeting, scheduling, facilities, funding, program management, evaluation, and related administrative functions;<\/li>\n
4. Develop and implement marketing and fund development strategies, and programs to ensure the growth and sustainability of the organization; and<\/li>\n
5. Promote Mental Health America Hawaii and its mission to our community and current and prospective funding sources \u2013 act as the public face\/primary spokesperson for MHAH and a \u201cgo-to\u201d resource for media, legislators, and others who seek to understand and address Hawaii\u2019s mental health landscape.<\/li>\n
6. Develop and implement strategies to promote annual advocacy priorities, including community organizing and coalition leadership.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

   QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: <\/strong><\/p>\n

   \n
   • Bachelor\u2019s degree or higher in public health, psychology, social work or other equivalent degree in a field related to Mental Health America of Hawaii\u2019s purpose;<\/li>\n
   • At least five years of work experience in a related field with increasingly responsible administrative experience. At least three of those five years must be in a supervisory capacity that includes responsibility for management of significant funding amounts.<\/li>\n
   • Demonstrated success in fundraising, collaboration\/partnership, and community relations.<\/li>\n
   • Experience working with volunteers and a commitment to volunteer leadership and involvement.<\/li>\n
   • Exceptional nonprofit management ability and a sincere commitment to\/passion for the goals and values of the organization. (See our Organizational Identity Overview)<\/li>\n
   • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills a must.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

     Working at MHAH means wearing many hats and pitching in to help other team members (we are 5 strong!) In addition to the necessary professional background, we are looking for someone who likes a varied workday, wants to be out in the community, and is willing to do everything from set up and breakdown at events to public speaking engagements. We also need a leader who shares our commitment to social justice, policies of inclusion, and understanding and compassion for people living with mental health issues.<\/p>\n

     Salary range starts at $80,000 annually<\/p>\n
